"I am the way and the truth and the life"........John 14 v 6

With the referendum debate having raged on for such a long time,  it occurred to me how strange it is that people can be equally convinced of such totally opposing opinions, not just about political ideologies, but the same applies to doctrinal issues, and bringing it even closer to home, about people.

Do we ever really know the truth about a person?  Relying on our own judgment I think the answer is definitely “No”! We can never fully understand another person, their motives, what makes them tick.  We don’t even know the truth about ourselves, so prone we are to self deception, so how do we ever really know the truth?  We look to the one who made this amazing claim, Jesus Christ, who said,

“I am the truth”

Only He knows the secrets in our hearts, and only He understands us fully.  He then is also the only one who knows how best to begin to change us.

How wonderful that He is able to communicate with us from that place of absolute truth and knowledge.  Oh, that we might trust Him more!
