Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires

A gentleman told me, that last week he was stopped by the police for not wearing his seatbelt. He had been manoeuvering out of a parking bay at the local supermarket. He reversed out of the bay as another car waited to enter it. He hurried out of the way before stopping at the exit. He then put his seatbelt on, and drove onto the street. Within 100 yards a police car stopped him. He explained the situation and the policemen said that they had in fact seen all of this. However he had broken the law and he was booked.
As he pondered the seeming injustice of this, he felt that God was speaking to him through the incident.
That each day he should "put on the Lord Jesus Christ," and not take Him off for any reason. Without HIm he would not be travelling in the approved manner. He would not be walking in His way, and having removed the covering, he would not be being held safely and securely in the restraint of the Lord.

Galatians 3:27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
