Isaiah 64 v6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags”

I have not read the book of Revelation all that often as to be honest I have never really understood it! But today I decided to tackle it again - this time with the help of the NLT study notes.

It really came home to me that there is a battle between good and evil, God and Satan right here on this earth.  The battle is not a battle that you can see, but it takes place in every human heart, and we start off on the wrong side: Psalm 51 v5.  “For I was born a sinner – from the moment my mother conceived me.” - The seed of evil is already in us at birth!
Most normal people try to live a good life according to their conscience or upbringing, but we can never be good enough for God:  Isaiah 64 v6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags”

That's why we need so much to come to Christ, allow Him to come into our hearts as our personal Saviour, and to totally cleanse our hearts from sin. He has won the victory over Satan for all time and eternity, but we need Him constantly living in our hearts so that that victory can be continually outworked by Him for us.
