Meanwhile, the fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must never go out. Each morning the priest will add fresh wood to the fire and arrange the burnt offering on it. He will then burn the fat of the peace offerings on it. (Leviticus 6:12 NLT)

I am currently reading the bible in a year. I'm reading the chronological version and today I started on Leviticus. As I was reading the above verse, I thought about our own lives and how much we need to keep the fire of God burning. But how do we do this, how do we keep, not only the fire burning, but burning brightly without letting it grow dim?......quite simply we need to keep putting fresh coal on the fire.

So, what is the spiritual coal we need to put on the fire to keep our lives burning brightly for God?
1 Prayer.....we need to pray and we need to pray daily in order to keep the fire burning. Find time, make time every single day to rekindle the fire with prayer
2 Read the and meditate on the word of God. Let Him speak to you through His word, opening your spirit to God and again, do this daily.
3 Keep the right of the ways you can do this is by attending church regularly,
meeting together with like minded people where you are together in praise and worship to God and are in His Presence. If at times you feel the fire beginning to burn low, get out to a meeting! Be with other Christians, don't wait until you feel better.....go!

There are of course many other coals which can be put on the fire to keep it burning brightly. Havea think of the coals that you use to keep the fire of God burning in your life and make sure these are heaped upon your life on a daily determined that the fire of God will always be kindled in your heart and that God will be glorified.
