“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10)

A few Sunday mornings ago, Jennifer preached on the verse

“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10)

In the business of our modern world we can get caught up in ‘worry and hurry’, and can forget that God actually wants to communicate with us.

During the prayer time, when as a company we were meditating on the truth that had been brought to us, I saw that this is also how we are changed.

Instead of fussing about all the things we know are wrong and trying (unsuccessfully!) to change ourselves; instead of trying to cover up our faults and our failings, we just need to “be still” before Him and allow His Holy Spirit to speak to us. Just by being in His presence and knowing that He is God our desires can change.

We don’t need to pretend before God.  Provision has been made at Calvary for all our failures and mistakes.

He knows the bits of us that need to change better than we do and He knows when and how to communicate this to us.  He “is able to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 1:24)
