Let your eyes look straight ahead. Keep looking right in front of you. (Proverbs 4:25 NIRV)

Many years ago I watched a film about an ocean liner that was sinking and the passengers only had a short time before the ship sank. No it wasn't 'Titanic' but something similar. The ship had been very badly damaged and one man was trying to rescue his small daughter. There was a chasm between them, a yawning great hole into blackness below. The little girl had to crawl across a very shaky iron beam to reach her father....she was crying, looking down into the chasm and saying "daddy I can't, I can't." She was distraught. Her father calmly said "Look at me. Don't look down, keep your eyes on me and you'll be fine". As she slowly inched her way across that beam there were loud cracks and groaning of the steel as if at any moment it was going to give way and she would plunge into the chasm below. "Keep looking at me" her father said until at last she was safely across. I've never forgotten those wise words of her father "Keep looking at me". Sometimes in life we can feel as if we are hanging over a chasm and fear we could fall into the abyss........don't look down. Keep looking at your Heavenly Father and He will lead you safely over to the other side.
