Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this
through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. Romans 3:24

When I was a full time primary teacher part of my job was to teach maths. Maths is one of these subjects where the same topics come up year after year, and each time a topic is taught the teacher hopes the class will learn and understand more. Often I would revise a concept the children should have learned the year before and realise some pupils hadn't grasped it.
Sometimes in my Christian walk God has to remind me of the most basic Christian truths. A few weeks ago I went to a Sunday morning service feeling a bit discouraged. Jennifer was preaching about the wonderful salvation we have in Christ. She was reminding us that Christ has taken all our sins away and that we are washed clean by the blood of the Lamb.
She told us that Christ's righteousness is transferred to us so that when God looks at us he doesn't see our sin but he sees only the loveliness of Christ. By the end of the service I was in the victory!
These are truths I have known for over forty years, yet it came with a greater wonder,
reality and depth of understanding that Sunday morning. We hear or read the same
incredible truths about God again and again, and with His help, each time we understand more and more at a deepening level.
